TARGET AUDIENCES, goals & objectives

Target Audiences:

Regional and local health agencies, regional LINCS officials, Influenza Advisory Committee, HEPAC, Pandemic Influenza Plan Workgroup, MRC coordinators and all others interested in this topic.

Meeting Goals:

  • Provide current information on NJDHSS influenza pandemic planning and response
  • Identify roles and responsibilities of NJDHSS, county and local public health officials and public health partners in implementing the NJDHSS Influenza Pandemic Plan
  • Develop recommendations for “next steps” in influenza pandemic preparedness

Learning Objectives:

1. Explain the roles and responsibilities of NJDHSS and county and local public health planning and response agencies.

2. Describe the key components of the NJDHSS Influenza Pandemic Plan.

3. Describe one’s role in the state, county and local influenza pandemic response.

4. Acknowledge that uncertainty (e.g. conflicting advice from authorities or inadequate information) may arise during an influenza pandemic and discuss techniques/strategies to mitigate its effects.

5. Ensure the appropriate communication of the information in the influenza pandemic response plan to all stakeholders.

 

 
 

CREDITs

PUBLIC HEALTH LE #011408: This program is approved by the New Jersey Public Health Council for 3.25 LE continuing education contact hours toward meeting the requirements of Public Health Practice Standards (N.J.A.C. 8:52).

CHES #16023: This program has been approved for 3.25 Category I Continuing Education Credits for CHES by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Public Health. The UMDNJ-SPH has been designated as a provider of continuing education in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.

NURSES: The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Center for Continuing and Outreach Education is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by NJSNA, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Provider Number P173-10/06-09.  This activity is awarded 3.25 contact hours (60 minute CH). Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 13780.

PHYSICIANS: UMDNJ-Center for Continuing and Outreach Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UMDNJ-Center for Continuing and Outreach Education designates the educational activity for a maximum of 3.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS: UMDNJ -CCOE certifies that this continuing education offering meets the criteria for up to .325 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), provided the activity is completed as designed.
